The Challenge:
Vignetic is looking for a Business Analyst who will play a central part in the development of valuable solutions with focus on digital solutions, assisting the company and colleagues with their business potential. The role facilitates a strong connection between business and IT & Digital (IT&D) and forges close cooperation between company colleagues on many levels.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Define a formal business analysis framework and methodology in alignment with industry standards such as IIBA BABOK
- Document process guidelines, templates, and job aids to support requirements elicitation and gathering
- Assume leadership in formalizing the expected quality, format, and presentation of artifacts.
- Identify the right tools and processes to capture clear functional and non-functional requirements
- Oversee ongoing BA engagements and ensure quality of the BA deliverables
- Work with Test Leads to define testing best practices
- Introduce formal visualization and requirements gathering and workshop techniques (such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro etc.)
- Establish a BA maturity roadmap and associated operating model (3–5-year plan)
- Collaborate with IT Business Partners to define domain specific groupings/Pods
- Work with key delivery teams (Digital Solutions, BAM etc.) to define operating model in a product-based delivery model
- Measure and report on improvements in business analysis maturity model
- Define the proper methodology for business cases for the project team and process owner, defining business outcomes, including current baseline and future target metrics, such as leading and lagging indicators, and linking to strategic key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Act as an authority on the Business Requirements process, answering questions from the project team and business stakeholders, as necessary.
- Conduct user interviews with the purpose of developing standards for requirement specifications, use cases and other process diagrams.
- Manage, prepare, facilitate, and document workshops to obtain train on proper requirements gathering techniques and to dissemination of CoE guidelines and templates.
- Work with Solution Architects and/or Solution Specialists to understand their needs to help them determine the best solutions based on the requirements.
- Support the creation of decision proposals and business cases.
- Support the creation of project plans and operational documents.
- Support the project team during the implementation by answering any questions related to requirements, e.g., during the creation of PQ test scripts and traceability matrix.
- Participate in follow up sessions once a project is completed to check if the requirements guidelines are being met by the project deliverables and support any major changes needed.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience establishing and/or leading a Business Analysis Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Define what good requirements definition looks like
- Develop appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), tools, and best practices
- Establish peer review of BA work – leveraging both internal and external Business Analysts (BA)
- Define approaches for both product and project models
- Define the operating model for the CoE, including management and rollout of SOPs, practice guides, templates, etc.
- Review the current landscape (across all BAs supporting IT&D)
- Review current and upcoming demand and plan resourcing.
- Engage one or more external partners for BA services and measure their performance at an annual basis.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree (in science, engineering, or business), with related business discipline experience.
- B.A. or other advanced degree in business or social sciences is a plus.
- Prior experience establishing and/or leading a Business Analysis Center of Excellence (CoE) is desired
- Multiple years of process improvement experience, especially experience that leverages technology as part of the solution.
- Related certifications in Business Analysis (CAP, IIBA) highly preferred but could be supplemented with an equivalent work experience
- Hands-on experience with process modeling, analysis, and simulation tools.
- Experience working on projects using a variety of process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, value chain analysis, lean Six Sigma or total quality management).
- Track record of working on projects that delivered different types of business outcomes: revenue growth and customer satisfaction, for example, not just process efficiency or cost reduction.
- Business domain experience in the process areas being supported desired
- Availability to travel (Approx 25%).
