The Challenge:

Our client, a Fortune 500 Company is seeking a Data Protection Manager who will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 6 year(s)
  • Preferred Fields of Study:
    • Computer Applications, Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information CyberSecurity, Information Technology, Management Information Systems
  • Certification(s) Preferred:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success managing projects relating to the defining and assessing of Data Protection strategy, architecture and practices, and technology implementation including the following:
  • Understanding of at least three Data Protection capabilities such as Database Activity Monitoring (IBM, Imperva etc.), Data Access Governance (SailPoint, Stealthbits, Varonis etc.), Data Classification (Boldon James, Microsoft Information Protection, TITUS etc.), Data Loss Prevention (Forcepoint, McAfee, Symantec etc.), Information Rights Management (Microsoft Information Protection, Seclore, Vera etc.);
  • Managing teams developing and implementing Data Protection solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned to their business, technology and threat drivers;
  • Managing teams implementing Data Protection tools within a complex business environment, through requirements gathering, building, testing, and production roll-out;
  • Demonstrating experience leading Data Protection projects to define strategy and roadmap, operating model, policies/standards, and tool design and process documents;
  • Leading evaluation of new solutions and services, providing a business case on whether the firm should develop skills and vendor relations within new Data Protection solutions and technologies;
  • Demonstrating knowledge of NIST, HIPAA, COBIT, GDPR, CCPA as well as other industry recognized information security/privacy standards and industry leading practices;
  • Identifying and addressing client needs by building relationships with clients, demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks, and resolving potential conflicts as a leader;
  • Managing a team and/or work stream on engagement(s), development of staff, business development, and communications with executives;
  • Leading project planning, engagement administration, budget management, and the successful completion of engagement work streams;
  • Managing business development opportunities and/or engagements from pre-sale and initial scoping through final delivery and sign-off;
  • Collaborating with business development teams responsible for writing and presenting proposals to prospective clients; and,
  • Demonstrating negotiation, documentation and presentation skills.
