The Challenge:
Our client is seeking applicants for a Java developer role.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Implement new features and modern designs to improve the experience of our member-facing digital platform and internal servicing tools
- Work closely with Product Owners, Design, DevOps, QA, and other engineers to develop performant, innovative, scalable, and secure code
- Define and apply coding standards that reduce complexity, while mentoring other developers to best practices that fully leverage modern Java functionality
- Influence the build and deployment process by collaborating in problem-solving discussions to find solutions driven by experience and analytical skills
- Plan, test, and develop web applications in a microservice architecture using React, Next.js, Express, Material-UI, and MongoDB
- Design and implement internal API’s and integrate third-party API’s to support our platform
- Participate in design workshops and technical requirements sessions as needed
Essential skills and requirements:
- Have 5+ years of applicable work experience
- Comfortable working in a full stack environment using JavaScript, Node, Vue, React or other modern JS frameworks
- Have an experience with iOS and Android mobile development
- Enjoy the variety of working in both a team environment and independently
- Champion test driven development and collaborative code review processes
- Have experience with source control management (We use Git)
- Comfortable with databases (We use MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Microsoft SQL Server)
- Bring the bonus knowledge of WCAG, CircleCI, Ampersand, Cloudinary, Redis, Jira, or AWS
